This story began a long time ago, and is one of my favorite, not everyone can afford to do this for the love of their life. All for the love of a woman!
Once upon a time, there was a great love that began instantly when a young Mughal prince caught a glimpse of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She was a fifteen year old Persian Princess who was des-tined to be the love of his life. The Mughal Prince grew up to be Shah Jahan, Emperor of India. He renamed his bride Mumtaz Mahal, meaning “Jewel of the Palace.” Although the Emperor had many wives, Mumtaz Mahal was his soul mate. The two lovers were inseparable, until Mumtaz Mahal died during the birth of their fourteenth child. The Emper-or was so devastated that he ordered his court into mourning for two years. It is said that before his wife died, she obtained a promise that he would build the world’s most beautiful monument in her memory. The building of this monument took 22 years and the work of over 22,000 workers and 1,000 elephants. This magnificent monument became known as the “Taj Mahal” and is now one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Photo of my friends visit to the“Taj Mahal.” Even though it was foggy it is still a beautiful sight!
All this for the love of a woman!
