TODAY I RECIEVED A GIFT BASKET

By
Real Estate Agent with Weichert Referral Associates

In a couple of my past posts I had mentioned a transaction that had been playing on my nerves. I had first time homebuyer with a 5 yr old and a 3 month old and they were just the nicest kids. Her grandfather was lending them money for closing and he works 6 days a week so his wife can stay home with the children. Anyway we found the house that they REALLY wanted but there was a failed septic issue. The other agent who new I was less experienced than him tried like all get out to convince me to try to convince them to accept what was obviously a bad deal. At one point he had the nerve to say to me "Don't tell me you don't need the money, don't you want to close this deal?" Well I hung up on him and when he called back I asked him If he would be giving the same advice if it were his daughter(who I know) who was trying to buy the house. I then told him they had till friday to accept our terms , which we increased or we ware walking. During this transaction I lost my temoer had thoughts the Lord would not approve of and basically acted unkind. But we eventually settled on what any reasonable person would consider a fair agreement, even the attorney complimented me which I couldn't believe and best of all . Today I had a gift basket delivered to my office with a card that said Thank You we Love our house and are verry happy. It was hard not to tear up, I know they can,t afford it, I've been over since they moved in trying to show them ways to save money on some things. But that was what this realestate thing is all about. Helping people find homes, I have people who say I,m crazy because i have talked buyers out of deals but I,ll take a gift basket and my integrity intact over a commision gained at someone elses expense any day.

Its times like this that you just have to GIVE THANKS AND PRAISE TO THE LORD

You do what is right because your boss is God .  that is who you work for and who gives you your daily orders.  He will help or is helping you with that anger problem - see you didn't punch him, it our reaction after our  initial feeling that we need to control.

You can't ever go wrong doing what is right.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.   GOOD FOR YOU.  I HAVE ALOT OR RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO STAND UP FOR THE ONES THAT NEED THAT EXTRA CARE.  MY HUSBAND IS THE SAME WAY HE CAN GET SO MAD WHEN PEOPLE DO WRONG TO OTHERS, BECAUSE IT IS SOMETHING WE DONT EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT.

GOD BLESS YOU!!

Hugh- You can't go wrong doing the right thing!

And sometimes you will get angry when you see an injustice. It happens. I don't think Jesus was too happy when he said,

Mat 23:33"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

As long as,

Eph 4:26"In your anger do not sin"*: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Take care and keep walking in his path! GBY!

Hugh:  You did the right thing and that's what is important.  That other agent may need to take a hard look at his personal ethics.   I am very protective of buyers I represent and I know that is what builds my referral business.  Keeping it honest and above board will certainly eliminate a lot of unnecessary problems down the road.  I wonder what the agent had to say when you asked if it was his daughter?!  It's ok that you lost your temper, God understands.
