Recycle your mail

recycle mail

In my little local post office that services about 2500 homes these recycle bins showed up.

There is actually 2 bins in this small post office. There is a small cut out to slide the mail in. The container has a lock attached on the top so no one can open the lid and retrieve the trash mail for security purposes.

I recycle at my home. I take all my magazines, papers and boxes to the local library to recycle. The library receives money from the recycling company for these items in order to buy books, cd's or DVDs for the library.

I love it that our little community in Grant Florida is on board now in the importance of saving our earth!

Michele, I also thought it was a great idea. I can only imagine all the junk mail I get and having the recycle bin so close they must collect quite a bit.

Lauren, Good for you and mother earth that you recycle like crazy!!!!

Wallace, You are right we can stop magazines from delivering and Amazon never send out paper junk mail!! Thanks for the reminder about Amazon.

Our PO has had these for quite some time.  I shred all of my home junkmail and deposit the bags at a local paper receptacle, either at the Habitat for Humanity retail store or one of the local elementary schools. They use the paper drive canisters as a fund raiser.

Robert,

That is great. I do the junk mail and magazines at home to our local library that does the same thing. We are trying to leave a smaller footprint, right?

Absolutely, Nona. That is a great idea - donate the mags to the library!
