HALLOWEEN , Tips from a Dentist.
Good dental health is a daily chore with kids and adults as well.
And Halloween, one of my favorite sweet tooth times of the year is probably one of the hardest to stay on track with especially when it comes to my candy intake.
So you may be asking what's the best way for your kids ( and you) to deal with all that candy.
Well first I would say SHIP IT TO ME but that's not what this is about.
Halloween candy should be enjoyed and should not cause cavities. ( i'm no dentist nor do I play one on t.v.) but hears the tips I have found from some local dentist.
1) All candy should be eaten or thrown out after 1 week
The longer it is around the longer the problem exists
2) Eat candy after meals
One or 2 pieces after rather than 12 in between
3) Fruit Roll ups and other sticky candies are worse for teeth than a candy bar
Pesky things stick right to the teeth, like a shot of sugar
4) Swishing with water after candy is far more effective than nothing at all
Helps get out all those tiny pieces hiding in between your teeth
5) Brush and floss regulary and have an apple...................sorry wrong doctor
So remember kids regardless of your age....................
Be hip and take a tip.
