A Red Letter Day! Thanx to Active Rain, Fluff My House! is on the first page of Google!

I received an email from an seo company today:

Hope you are well.

I am a Business Development Manager in a leading SEO Company.

I have visited your website “www.fluffmyhousehomestaging.ca” and analyzed that it is not ranking on the first page of Google for most of the keywords pertaining to your domain so I was wondering if you would be interested in getting Search engine optimization done for your website.

Let me know if you are interested, I would be happy to send you complete website detail and cost.

So; I went to Google to check out what the scoop was.

I've always been on Google if I typed in 'Fluff My House!', usually the

first 5 of the first page,

FMHHS on Google

but, I have to say I have never been able to type in "home staging in Edmonton" and get any results within the first 10 pages or so, because there were so many 'bought' ads.

There still are, there are 7 bought ads above me as well as some other biz's related to home staging in Edmonton, but today when I went and typed "home Staging in Edmonton, there I was(!), at the bottom of the page, but hey, it's still the first page! first page of google

Thanx to Active Rain! I see Kristine Ginsberg's pic there as well!

If any one doesn't believe in the Magic of the Rain, they need to see this!

Great news! I've found myself on page 1 many times, almost always due to an ActiveRain post of mine. I get those "I can help you get to page 1" emails all the time...I've never replied to one of them.

Sharon, because I looked and found what I saw I had to reply and this is what I wrote:

Hi Carolyn,

I am on the first page of google, (organic search) if you type homestaging in Edmonton, or Fluff My House!. Both of which are what people are going to type if they are looking for someone in my area. The majority of companies that are higher on the page have paid for an ad to be there.

Peg, that's great. I've also noticed that certain neighborhoods are very tough to get on the first page because there are so many people advertising in those areas, but the same thing just happened to me...made it to the fourth slot in a market that is very popular...AR played a big part in that. Just love it when an SEO company wants to rank me on first page of Google when I'm already there.

Nick, you could've knocked me over with a feather! I didn't expect to be there, but I thought I'd see how many pages in I was, because I was always hoping that I'd get to page 3 or 4... :D

So glad it happened to you as well! I always thought it was hopeless because of all the bought ads. They used to be the entire first page here.

Peg, a lot of it depends on the title and keywords...I'm sure you know that. What caused me to end up on the first page was adding the zip code in the title and there I was, first page fourth down. I'm going to fool with it a little more just to see if I can get it higher than #4.
