Pomander is the new word of the day.

Pomander is the new word of the day.

Haven’t worn one of these but after reading its meaning I might start with some homes.  Not really but it would be nice if these things work.  So now would be as good as a time to tell you the meaning of (po’man der) a mixture of aromatic substances balled together and carried about with one, esp. formerly as a supposed safeguard against infection.  Some of the homes I’ve been in and the smell that goes with it wish I had one of these.  What say you?

Here is the Young Man From Afghanistan with a little pomander he found along the way.

They would run into stashes of pomander in its raw state, before it could be made into the very popular cash crop it is.

They were told to just leave it by the road.

Not much they could do with it.

But, he snapped a photo!

That's about 15 pounds of pomander!

I wonder if the origin of that word comes from the Spanish word POMADA? . .meaning of a mixed solution used mostly for medicines.

James, must agree that some people do not think when putting their home up for sale. If you need a pamander, a sale will not be forthcoming! Enjoy your day!

Hi James.  Is that what you call it when you wear garlic to ward off the vampires?

I likes it!  I have not used any pomander, per se, but would agree it's beneficial in homes with a slight odor....

The sellers of many of the properties I have purchased over the years could have used some pomander. Hopefully I have used the work correctly?

A zillion years ago when I was a Brownie Girl Scout, we made pomander balls as Christmas decorations -- clove-studded oranges, decorated with ribbon to hang on the tree. I remember the good aroma and thought they were beautiful. LOL.
