You have probably seen and heard the ads on TV and radio. (click Video)

For the first time in recent years serious threats are being made against some of the incentives of home ownership. One of these is the Mortgage Interest Deduction.

NAR is known as one of the strongest lobbying groups in Washington and they're taking this fight to the mat. Not only is NAR promoting the tax incentives we currently have but they are highlighting the social-economic stimulus created by Home Ownership. From stronger communities to job creation, it is quite clear that homeowners have a huge impact on the economy. In fact Home Ownership accounts for about 15% of the nation's total economic activity.

Getting the "Word" Out

As part of their mid-year legislative convention in Washington, D.C., the organization had a rally at the Washington Monument on  May 17th. The goal of the event was to portray Home Ownership as an important stimulant in the economic recovery. Several Members of Congress joined with other government officials to keep a focus on the importance of Home Ownership.
