As usual, Starcade Billiards had another great 9 ball tournament in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. 71 players were in attendance vying for a slice of $5,050 and a chance to capture the $1,450.00 top prize. This event was co-sponsored by Robert Harris, owner of Break Point Ques.
Unlike previous events, neither one of the 3 remaining players had ever won this tournament. Josh Hillard and Stoney Stone made it to the winner's bracket finals, while Scott Towsend and Mitch Yarbrough made it the loser's side final.
Stoney played almost perfect against Josh with a 9-4 score and captured the hot seat. Meanwhile, Mitch defeated Scotty to secure a spot in the top three and setup a match for 2nd place against Josh.
Josh suffered another 9-4 loss at the hands of Mitch and settled for 3rd place and $500. Mitch played strong all weekend, but it was not enough to stop Stoney. Stoney beat Mitch 12-5 to capture his 1st title at Starcade Billiards and $1,450. Mitch settled for 2nd place and $800.
Stoney (Johnny Stone Jr.) lives in Sneads, Florida, and invites anyone wishing to shoot a few games of pool or take lessons, contact him at 850-557-4951.
