WEBSITE REVIEW: HOUZZ- IT'S NATIONAL HOMEOWNERSHIP MONTH |
Topic Summary: Website Review: Houzz.com. Just in time for National Homeownership Month! We all know the web and facebook can help us share ideas or answer questions but we came across a site that is a true community of improvers and do-it-your-selfers. The site is called HOUZZ, pronounced "How-z" www.houzz.com In summary the site is an easy way to get inspiration for home design and remodeling projects. In addition, you can share your before and after pictures, communicate with professionals and overall have a place to hang out with other like minded homeowners. Features: Sign-Up. To get the most out of any of the features the site suggests you sign up so you can easily share resources and communicate with the enrolled community members. Ease of Use. It takes about five minutes for you to get a glimpse of all it has to offer and you will find the site is feature rich. You will come away after your first visit with a feeling that you are not alone out there, trying to improve your home and design. You can hone in the type of home you have and there is content specific to each room you have, kitchen, bedroom etc. Updated: The site tracks new design trends and products that make a house a home. For example they highlight some insanely expensive products and simple ones< HERE > But what our editors found the most rewarding was the "community" where you can add pictures of what you are going through, get others to comment and assist and generally have a source for "been there- done that" consumers. Advertising: As can be expected there are the usual tie ins and ads for home related websites but they are not intrusive. |
