Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival on Thursday the 23rd through the 25th, you won't even have to get out of bed to enjoy the festivities. With a little engineering, you can roll right down to the festival grounds still tucked under the covers on Saturday morning and participate in Metamora's 1st ever bed race.
Activities at this year's festival will include many old favorites. About 20 to 25 hot air balloons will be taking off to race in the Hare and Hound balloon race on both Friday and Saturday evenings. The fire truck candy drop will be back this year, as well as the business expo, parade, music in the park and children's games.
Also like years past, festival patrons will be able to walk through the hot air balloon field to get a close look at the balloons and talk to pilots. Besides the bed races, festival goers can look forward to several new activities and booths, including a Ronald McDonald magic show, new food vendors and a 5k race.
