A friend emailed me a very helpful article and I thought I would share it with you:
If you just used up the last of your cleaning products, don't dash off to the store quite yet. Reach for these kitchen staples instead:
1. If you run out of furniture polish, use olive oil, white vinegar and lemon juice. The olive oil nourishes and prevents the wood from cracking, while the acidic vinegar cleans.
2. If you run out of fabric refreshing spray, use vodka instead. Both items are odor-eliminating ethanols. The spray is distilled from petrochemicals, the vodka from grain.
3. If you run out of glass cleaner, use white vinegar and dish soap instead. The cleansers in the soap wash away any grime, and the vinegar tackles bacteria.
4. if you run out of dry sweeping cloths, use paper towels instead. Like the pricey dry cloths, the grooves in your paper towels work to attract, and hold on to, dust, dirt and debris.
