When was the last time you had a Home Inspection?

When was the last time you had a home inspection?

When was the last time you had a home inspection? Chances are it was when you first purchased your home.

When was the last time your car was inspected? If you're living in Central Pa chances are it was either inspected this year or you have an inspection that is due in the next couple of months.

For most people, their homes are their biggest investment, so why not check on those investments more often? When you take your vehicle to the mechanic do you ask them to look at it and see what kind of repairs you can expect in the near future so that you can start planning or saving money for it? A home inspection will be the same thing for you and can save you money over the long haul. Wouldn't you want to know if you have any damaged or missing shingles on your roof that need to be replaced instead of coming home to a roof leak?

When we  take on a new listing we do suggest for our sellers to invest in a pre-list home inspection prior to putting the home on the market. This will allow our sellers to make or at least disclose any repairs or needed repairs. We would much rather you tell a potential buyer if anything needs repaired, as opposed to a potential buyer telling our sellers what's wrong with the property. Having this knowledge will also serve as justification for the asking price and limit any surprises.
