I have been licensed since 1992. I love my profession and I believe it is a dream job.
Prior to being Real estate agent, I was a Customer Service Representative at a bank. I had to sit at the desk and wait for people to come in to open accounts . In Real estate I can choose when I sit at the desk and when I can go out looking for clients. We get to work with different people and build life long relationships. It is a wonderful feeling when I help first time buyers find their dream home and guide them every step of the way right upto settlement. I can not express how happy it makes me feel when I call sellers to tell them I have a good offer on their home. My job is based on referrals and I make sure I am buliding life long relationships with my clients.
Besides the thrill of helping buyers and sellers, a great thing about my job is the ability to take a vacation and visit my parents in India. When I worked at the bank it was difficult to coordinate vacation time. Now I go once a year. I work 7 days a week but have the luxiry of being able to take time off when I have family events and whenever my son visits.
I went to college and majored in Physics /chemistry. Recently I ran into an old friend from college (after 30 years ) who asked me what I was doing and then asked if I regretted it. I said I love my job and said it gave me more time to be with my family.
