Building your Sphere of Influence purposefully means that first you give of yourself. 

You must first exhibit your ability in knowing your market, how to price your listings to sell, how to sell your listings, how to market the properties, how to write good contracts, how to find the right properties for buyers, and so many other things that are necessary to be a professional and giving the right kind of service in representing your clients.  And when you do not know the how or why, you know where to go to find the right answers. 

Next, you need to care about your clients and show you care.  This can be done in many small ways, such as listening to what they say and acting upon it.  Keeping in touch regularly and letting them know you are thinking of them shows you care.  Being there when they have questions or concerns, being their professional in the business, returning phone calls in a timely manner, offering them items of value in ways that will benefit them, their families and their lives are all important to showing you care.  You can't fake it, it shows.

Caring goes beyond the individual and into the community.  Being involved in community or church activities to make your community a better place to live shows so they can see that you care.

It is important to be interested in the services and products of those that can be a part of your Sphere of Influence.  Learn to be purposeful in recommending those you trust and letting them know you are recommending them.  When you have trust, you can ask for referrals and they will be given gladly.
