Kansas City is a great place for girls fast pitch softball. I have only been a fan for about 6 years. Both of my daughters play ball in the Kansas City area and are usually involved in a tournament every single weekend thru the Spring, Summer and Fall. My youngest daughter currently plays for Phenix out of Lawrence Kansas and my oldest daughter currently plays for Team 4:13 Pride.
Do not try and find a softball field to practice on during the weekends in Kansas City. The ball fields here are completely saturated with all ages of girls - trying to make it to the championship round on Sunday. Here is a list of a few softball parks in the Kansas City area. Mid America West Sports Complex (MAWSC), Blue Valley Rec. (BVRC), Olathe Girls Softball Association (OGSA) , Lone Elm Complex which is a sister field to (OGSA), Field of Dreams (FOD), Hidden Valley Sports Complex, and Adair Park Softball Complex . These are just a few in the Kansas City area and each of these fields have sister fields which help the flow of traffic in pool play.
There are two different fast pitch organizations in the Kansas City area, USSSA and ASA. You can find information for these organizations at playmsp.com and Tournamentasa.com. Probably the most used fast pitch website in the Kansas City area is KCfastpitch.com. Here you will find a complete list of all tournaments in the area & talk forums which include tryouts and camps to attend in the area. KCfastpitch.com also does a great job of displaying the brackets for all area tournaments. All the teams know who and when they are playing by Wednesday afternoon. Each bracket is completely interactive and very user friendly.
This weekend Team 4:13 Pride is playing in the Monster Bash at (MAWSC). We are very excited about seeing some great competition & playing up in the 18A bracket will face some of the best teams in Kansas City. Last week my 14 year old daughter played against Flame Fall which had two girls (pitcher & catcher) on scholarship to Emporia State University. Here is a look at her bracket.
Good luck to all of the teams playing in the Monster Bash this weekend!
