Ever network at a Beer Fest of any size? Its a little too laid back to do any serious business. We went to this beer festival out in Chicago where they had 100 kegs from around the city and the globe. The best was this Czech variety and the pumpkin ale which at the time was a great novelty.
The band that was hired that night was somewhat limited. They had great heart and did the Pogues as best as they could. The problem was they only knew one of their albums but it was one of the only few I owned so it kind of worked.
I met some of the up and coming business personalities in Chicago at that time. We got into a fairly detailed conversation about real estate, the printing industry and Tarintino. One of the guys in our group, who was somewhat serious, reached down to a bowl filled with nuts. He quickly spit them out after realizing that these were not nuts at all.... they were in fact, hops. The stuff they make beer from. Hes sputtering them out of his mouth and half choking. We all pretended not to notice.
He had grabbed from a display table that illustrated where beer comes from.
That being said.... LOL... there is a big Beerfest this weekend in Royal Oak, MI.
