In the keys there is a growing interest in residential and commercial use of alternative energy and energy- and water-efficient systems.

Sea Air Land Technologies Inc., better known as S.A.L.T., is moving up the Overseas Highway at the end of this month.

The 18-year-old Marathon-based company designs, sells and installs power and backup systems for home use, and air-conditioning, refrigeration and desalination systems for marine use.

Its newly purchased home, at 2992 Overseas, is the former site of Paradigm Boats. Company founder Bob Williams and co-owner Chuck Meier are converting the building's service bays into a showroom.

“Despite all the gloom and doom out there, we're very fortunate to be in a growing mode,” Meier says. “Part of that would be attributable to the alternative-energy drivers - the green movement.”

Williams and Meier are seeing growing interest in residential and commercial use of alternative energy and energy- and water-efficient systems.

Key West Florida March 28th, 2008:
When asked if this could possibly help the Key West and lower Keys Real Estate market, Key West, REALTOR, Karen Carter remarked- Energy efficiency is good no matter how you look at it. The fact that a local company offers this service, gives our current homeowners and future residents a way to go as far as making their homes more energy efficient and less costly.
Karen Carter also remarked, This also opens up opportunities for other companies to come into the keys and capitalize on this growing market-which means more jobs and money to the economy.
