Celebrate Dad on Father's Day 2015 with these events, activities in and around Milwaukee
Stumped on what to do for Father's Day this year? Here are some ideas for how to celebrate Dad:
FREE ADMISSION FOR DAD
Betty Brinn Children's Museum: Free admission for all dads. The museum is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Country Springs: Dads get a free day swim pass June 19-21 with one paid admission from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. at Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Rd., Pewaukee.
Harley-Davidson Museum: Free admission for dads and grandfathers from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Marcus Theatres: Dads receive free admission Sunday to see "Paddington" at 10:30 a.m. at participating Marcus Theatres.
Milwaukee County Zoo: All dads are admitted free. The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Prairie Farms Dairy will be serving up free milk samples from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Milwaukee Public Museum: Free general admission for all dads. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Racine Art Museum: All dads receive free admission to RAM from 12-5 p.m.
EVENTS IN MILWAUKEE COUNTY PARKS
Military Vehicles on Display
About a dozen military vehicles, including armored vehicles and a Vietnam-era ambulance, will be on display at the Boerner Botanical Gardens from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Traveling Beer Garden
The Traveling Beer Garden will be at Grant Park and Doctors Park from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. on Father's Day. In addition to 10 on-tap Sprecher beers, the beer gardens serve root beer, ginger ale, sodas and root beer floats, as well as food.
Wehr Nature Center
Families can go on self-guided hikes on more than 5 miles of trails in Whitnall Park, 9701 W. College Ave., in Milwaukee. A $3 parking fee includes admission for the entire carload!
Mitchell Park Domes
Vist The Domes' new summer floral show and enjoy free ice cream! This is a great spot for taking a family photo with Dad and/or Grandpa. Hours at 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $7/adults, $5/ages 6-17. Free for ages 5 and younger.
Lake Park
Lake Park Friends are offering a walk through the park, which was designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted - the architect who designed New York's Central Park. Historic maps and photos will be part of the tour. Participants should meet at the warming house at 1 p.m.

DINING OUT
Brunch at Boerner Botanical Gardens
The menu includes Tuscan tenderloin, barbecue pork ribs, made-to-order omelets, a Bloody Mary bar and mini desserts. Be sure to make reservations.
Have you heard about this place? This restaurant, which serves craft beer, burgers and sausages on Wisconsin Avenue in Oconomowoc, is a must visit for the Jucy Lucy-style burgers. The owners are opening a new place in Bay View in September, too!
Build-A-Breakfast/Build-A-Burger
This casual dining experience is great for families. You can build your own breakfast and your own burger! Located at 633 W. Wisconsin Ave., the restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Filled with firefighting gear and photos, take Dad to brunch in this former firehouse. Located in historic Walker's Point, brunch is served from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
GIFT IDEAS
Dad can be hard to shop for sometimes, but these 5 local ideas are sure to please.
Old-school shave at Stag Barbershop
Treat Dad to a straight razor shave at Stag Barbershop, 3064 S. Delaware Ave., Milwaukee. A shave is $30. Haircuts are $30, too. If Dad wants both, it’s $55.
Dad can take a “walk-up” tour of Miller Park for $12 this season. Or he can get the MVP tour and visit the batting cages, media interview room and more for $15. Days and times vary throughout the season.
Repurposed glassware from Embelezar
Stop in Embelezar and buy Dad some glassware made in Wisconsin from recycled glass bottles starting at $11. This boutique is located at 241 N. Broadway, Milwaukee.
Choose among the many gift baskets of cheese, sausage and other goodies. For $35, Dad can get the Milwaukee Favorites basket, which has summer sausage, liver sausage, bratwurst, summer sausage sticks, cheddar and a sausage knife.
Pizza bus tour from Milwaukee Food Tours
Dad can sample the pizza from gourmet slices to old-school ones from some of Milwaukee’s best pizza places. The 3-hour bus tour is $55 and includes pizza, dessert and round-trip transportation.
