First Dude And His Partner Win the Iron Dog

Winter MountainsOK...last post on the Iron Dog, I promise.  But since it was won by Alaska's "First Dude" I had to say something.

The race was over yesterday morning with Scott Davis and Todd Palin driving their sleds into Fairbanks after running almost 2,000 miles across alaska on snowmachines in under 39 hours.  Todd Palin's wife, Governor Sarah Palin was at the finish line.

A lot of racers are still on the trail between Nome and Fairbanks. I just checked the temp in Galena - I'ts -4 degrees.  What is the chill factor when you are going 80 MPH?

So what does this all have to do with real estate?  Well, those guys sure covered a lot of real estate from Wasilla to Nome to Fairbanks!

They sure did! WoW to go that distance in that kind of conditions is unbelievable! I wouldn't even ride a horse that distance in fair weather! They are better men than I!

Danny, I like to use a snowmachine, but I'm no racer.  I think those guys have to be just a little crazy.

I would still love to take the trip.

I wouldn't ride a horse in fair weather, or any kind of weather.  I'm not much of a cowboy, too long up here in the snow.

-4 degrees and 80 mph? Insane! Thanks for the update, Marty. So the First Dude won, huh? I'm always curious what the husbands of women in political office do for a living. What's this guys MO?

Hi Rich, the First Dude works on the Alaska Pipeline I think.  In fact he may work for British Petroleum.  I think he is going to need to retire because of possible conflict of interest issues.  The state and the oil companies are negotiating right now to possibly build a $30-40 billion dollar pipeline from here to Chicago.

That's billion...with a "B"

It would not be good to have the governor with interests on both sides of that deal.
