Tomorrow marks the opening of one of the most beautiful seasons in Brecksville, Ohio. Situated on the edge of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Cleveland MetroParks, Brecksville is a siren in golds, oranges and scarlet when the foliage dresses up for autumn.
A long walk through the park system on a sunny afternoon offers the chance to see not just trees changing colors, but ground cover and even poison ivy bursting into flaming hues.
Most Brecksville residents don't even have to travel as far as the park to enjoy the autumn show. Sitting on a back deck or porch to watch the sun set over the panorama of colors is a quiet, lovely and calming way to end an October afternoon.
While the colors of fall are bright and beautiful, they are also ephemeral. So keep your eyes out for the glorious display before the snowflakes fly and put an end to another year's autumn spectacle.
