Stain cleaning Tip - Bathroom tiles

By
Home Stager with DIVA DECOR DESIGN

In case you guys take the staging a little further:

Here's a quick and easy recipe for  Mould & mildew stains around the bathtub

I really notice this when I do consultations as I'm sure the potential buyer will too.So either hand the recipe to your client, or roll up your sleeves! (Add the labour cost to your staging fee!)

To remove the mould that grows in the caulking around the bathtub, treat the area with a strong solution of chlorine bleach (2 oz. bleach to 1 c. of water). Use the bleach solution to remove any black mildew stains from the tile grout too. Apply with a stiff brush.

I will have to try this - there is nothing worse then someone else's mildew!

I agree - Plus do you know how great it is when a client realizes that -no, you don't have to buy caulking or regrout or as it happened with me, retile the whole bathroom?! I swear these things do happen!

My best friend for this situation, and I find a little neater, is the Clorox Pen.  I did an entire large master shower in about an hour, and it looked absolutely brand new when I finished.  Just apply the Clorox gel from the pen-like applicator in a running line along each grout line, I did for example all the verticals at once, and by the time you reach the last the first is ready to rinse, yes just rinse, off with the shower's sprayer head.   Here and there I had to use a scrubbie sponge ever so slightly, but this shower hadn't seen a good cleaning in 4 or 5 years-- Tenants, you know.  Note:  I did need about 4 or 5 of the pens total.
