It's Spring Break in Oklahoma! What's on your schedule for FUN!

Need to make your way to some Spring Break fun in OKC? Maybe your are doing the Spring Break 'Staycation' and keeping it close to home and local? If you need some local ideas for having some Spring Break fun, then let me assist you on that project.

Here are some of the ideas my clients and friends have shared with me on fun for Spring Break in the Oklahoma City Metro area. There's really no need to plan a long away trip for the family. Cast away any lingering winter blues with a myriad (or Myriad Botanical Gardens) agenda of kid-friendly destinations and activities in Oklahoma.

*Head North to Enid, Oklahoma: There you will find Leonardo's Children's Museum. You won't see works by Leonardo Da Vinci or an appearance of Leonardo Dicaprio, but you will find plenty of interesting things to make a fun day trip with your family.
This place has a hands on science museum that is loaded with tasks and experiences that involve discovery and learning. You'll see exotic animals, dig for fossils and creepy crud, get the kids to break away from video games and get outdoors in the Adventure Quest area, and enjoy one of the largest playgrounds in the world. Make the trip to Enid..you'll love this day trip.

*Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History: My personal favorite. Having lived in Norman, Oklahoma for many years, I can personally endorse the fun and learning here. The diner is good for a break to sit down from all the walking you will do and enjoy a meal. Visitors will also find the Guinness record-holding largest dinosaur skull on a fully-mounted Pentaceratops, giant creepy-crawly prehistoric bugs and a walk-through limestone cave. It's fun and creepy at the same time! Kids will love riding the museum’s glass dino-vators right up to dino eye level, as well as exploring plenty of hands-on activities in the museum’s Discovery Room.

*Science Museum Oklahoma: Right here in Oklahoma City! Close to another great day of fun at the Oklahoma City Zoo, this science museum is full of experiments and activities for kids who want to learn about nature and science. Adults will enjoy it, too! With over eight acres of hands-on exhibits and 350 displays, this museum lives up to its moniker as an “amusement park for the mind.”

*Oklahoma City Zoo: With over 2,500 animals situated on 110 acres, you’ll have no problem bouncing from one activity to the next. Visit the zoo’s Great EscApe exhibit and monkey around with resident gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans or drop by the Cat Forest and Lion Overlook to get close up views of the world's big cats. This was a place I enjoyed coming to as a kid, and it has definitely expanded and improved since then. I love the amount of wildlife, the dolphins, the amount of walking that will give you a reason to say you've had a day full of exercise from the stroll around all the exhibits. Our OKC Zoo rocks!

So what would you like to share with me on great things to do over a Spring Break in Oklahoma? I would like to share your thoughts and recommendations with my clients and friends, so feel free to send me your thoughts on fun activities in Oklahoma City!
