Evanston IL Police Use Of Taser

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker 475.140531

Here is a video that goes in depth in explaining the use and training of the Evanston IL Police department and the Taser weapon. No one wants violence but if a subject is out of control and combative it may be better to use the Taser rather than extreme force or multiple officers. It is true that we have heard about incidents of injury or death because of Taser use and that is even more reason to conduct training and development to insure that the offender and the police officer do not get hurt.

Noah, I wish there was no need for such force, I wish there was no violence, I wish we had nothing but peace, no fear but....

Beth Atalay I totally agree with you. Peace and Love is what I preach. The unfortunate thing is that not everyone follows that, It is sad

I concur with Beth, but it's good that they are working to train officers to use Tasers properly to avoid serious injuries and death. D

I hate violence. If you view at the 3.51 point of the video you will see that the EPD has had zero injuries, complaints of excessive use and complaints of abuse of authority and intimidation.

Hi Noah -- it's the reality of living in the world today.   Unfortunate...but reality often is.

I agree with you all the way Michael Jacobs.

What are the police to do if someone is out of control? It is better then getting beat up or hit with a club like the old days. I hate the thought of hurting people but this video shows that they are trying to do it the right way and avoid shooting some poor fellow.

Nobody wants to see the police draw a weapon on citizens, but if they must a taser if far better than the bullets

It's is reality and I'm sure it's not easy to make that split second decision - taser or gun?  I sure wouldn't want their job.

Tasers have saved many a life on both sides and a lot of injuries also

It is proven William Feela . No one wants this to happen but better a taser than a gun.

Hello Noah ...

Very interesting post and I am also against violence.

I went to college for Law Enforcement and wanted to be a FBI secret agent. But when I found out I would need 4+ years of college and beat the streets for 6+ years I changed my mind half way into college.

I personally know what the streets are like with all the murder, drug dealing and crime. I would much rather have police officers use a taser then to shoot a bullets into a person to retain them.

Just my y 2 cents worth.
