The chart below shows Gainesville’s NEW LISTINGS, PENDING SALES, and the CLOSED SALES for the last 3 Months. New Listings are UP this month to 451 for March. Our PENDING contracts are also UP to 351, and this is a very good sign for the upcoming Spring/Summer market. Closed Sales are also UP to 253 for March. We are expecting a HOT real estate market this season!
The Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors® provides their statistics to the Florida Realtors® each month and they compile statewide data that allows them to compile these reports. Let’s look at stats for March 2016 compared to March 2015. Closed sales show an 5% increase from last year. Yet our months supply of inventory has declined 18%, and this shows a trend to our low inventory of homes for sale. The total Dollar Volume is up 14% from last year. Homes are moving faster.
