Recently we rolled out a new feature that takes social media pictures and it automatically populates into the tenants profile screen. (This is an option that can be enabled/disabled) But... How do you feel about this?
I have mixed feelings about this honestly. Someone being able to pull my profile pic and save it. But if I have some of my profile pics settings for public sharing they can possibly be used. I, like many of you, have an online presence for personal and for business. But as far as personal social media I like to lock it down with privacy settings as much as possible, but for business as you know our pictures and profiles are all over the place. I still have some concern about stalkers, not those who just want to check out my personal info to hire me for a job or anything like that. I mean real crazy weirdos! You can find so much stuff about people now-a-days as long as you know how or what to search. In fact, it wasn't too long ago I helped my mom find the address and phone number of a friend from the past. We were able to find them within minutes.
I remember when I was in kindergarten my mother use to drill in our heads how important it was not to share information with strangers. Now, we do not necessarily have to share it anymore, it is readily given to them online.
What are some of your online concerns?
