Keeping in Touch With Clients In the Equine Community

Throughout the year, I keep in touch with my clients.  I use various ways staying connected with them.  The most popular way, and reaching out to many, is posting on social media regularly.  I will post any events that are coming up, interesting articles and news, etc.  I also email them on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, winning events, or to send my condolences on a loss.

Volunteering at events to keep in touch with clientsI mostly prefer face-to-face meetings.  Volunteering is a good way I stay in touch.  Many of my clients participate in equine events.  When I volunteer at the events, I will get there earlier than my assigned time to check the program to see who I know is competing.  Then I will walk around the show grounds to find them, to say "hello" and wish them the best in their competition.  Sometimes we end up chit-chatting.  At these events, I will also run into other volunteers that are clients.

At other events, I will set up a table for my business.  As people walk by, I meet many ofSetting up a table at events to meet clients and potential clietns my clients who stop to chat.  It is a great way to catch up on how they are doing and what is new.

During the year, I like to stop by my clients' farm to see what they have done with it and to see their new horses as well as the updates on how their current horses are doing.  (Of course, I will call ahead to let them know I will be in the area and if it is OK to stop in.)  My clients' tend to be happy to see me and eager to show off their farm improvements as well as their horses.  Other times, I may meet my clients somewhere for coffee to catch up on things.

Lastly, I am my clients' go-to person.  I have a list of reliable and reputable service people, which I make my clients aware of.  I also have a list of places where they may be able to get whatever supplies may be needed for their farm.  When they are in need of someone, they will reach out to me.

It is such a pleasure to stay in touch with clients in more ways than one.  The best part is that some end up becoming good friends.

Hi Brigita- you have a very natural way if staying in touch with your clients. Volunteering at events as well as being a source for service providers is excellent!
