Why is it called Turtle Shores?

Because the TURTLES actually nest every year from May thru October along the Shores of our NE Florida beaches. The "TURTLE PATROL VOLUNTEERS" stake out their nests and protect them from harm. If you are living here you may want to join the patrol.  The types of Turtles include Loggerheads, Leatherbacks and Green turtles.  And you can learn more about Turtle Nesting than I want to cover here on Visit Florida website. 

Turtle Shores is actually a gated beach side community in South Ponte Vedra Beach where you will find a variety of 300 wonderful one story and two story houses,  all enjoying the "SALT LIFE": the beach walkover through the "TURTLE TUNNEL", a community pool, fitness, spa, tennis court and playground, Some houses capture sunrises and moon rises over the ocean and some have fantastic sunsets over the marsh and intracoastal waterway.
