Most everyone understands the importance of curb appeal when selling a house. After going over the basics (lawn, landscaping, etc), don't forget the jewelry of the exterior, the light fixtures! They are inexpensive to purchase and very easy to install, yet they can make such a positive impact on a home's appeal.
