How to get someone's attention on Active Rain?

How to get someone’s attention on Active Rain? This question appears to have an easy answer, but it is not that easy. Now please do not think and say : Write a great Headline😊 yes, you are right that will get some people’s attention. Then please do not say and think write a great post:  In some cases that will get the attention of some people, provided it gets Featured or Re-Blogged.

My purpose is to focus on the fact that if you write a blog post and people comment on your post it still will not guarantee that the person who commented will know that you responded back.

When you write a blog post, you as the author get notified if some one commented on your post. This is easy enough. Now you decide to respond back to that person on their comment. Seems logical that they should get notified as well. Ironically, they do not get notified. So, you go a step further same comment you ping them: using the “@” sign you spell their name out and it looks like they will get pinged. Well wrong again. The only way they get notified that you responded to them is if you write a separate comment rather then continuing the chain to their comment. Even then when you respond you need to “@” their name once it turns “blue” and their name pops up can you be assured that they will get pinged.

You might ask me:    Endre what is the big deal? Well just visualize commenting to twenty or more people a day, some of us do it to support the other person and in other instances we want to interact with the other person. Hence, we are looking for a response back, communication which leads to relationships, which develops  friendships, and in some cases,  it even develops referrals.

Therefore, I find it beneficial to share this post for those who are relatively new or have not paid attention to this small detail on Active Rain. Then again there are other who think that if you comment separately you are only doing it to increase your point count. I believe that is the minority here, we just want to have better interaction with the membership hence outside of calling them directly on the phone. This is an efficient way of interacting and communicating with them on this platform.
