. We appreciate, like we hope we all do...the dedication that our first responders have to their careers. We have had 911 visits when my Mom was with us..we witnessed their care...and when there was a fire in the 
neighborhood...the damages were so much less due to the speed and skill with which the fire was managed...it is what we sometimes take for granted as what a municipality "should" provide and the reason we pay taxes.
Speaking with the person who manages the local food pantry about needs for the holiday season, I learned more about the New Berlin Wisconsin fire and police departments...and their unsung contributions...TRULY coming from contribution.
First I was amazed to learn that there are 1200 families...some up to 8 members...some elderly individuals that are served by the food pantry.
The manager told me that every year for the last 10 years, the police 
and fire departments have donated a turkey for as many families/individuals as were served by the good pantry...WOW ! That is yet another reason why we should all be grateful for the men and women who serve as the firefighters and police force in the city of New Berlin, WI. They truly have both careers and spirits ....walk and talk the language of contribution...and we are proud to come from a community that has employees and volunteers that have set the bar high....and served as a shining example for everyone.
