Remove Us From Your List!!! My House Is Still Listed For Sale.

By
Real Estate Agent with Key Realty, LTD

I received a call today stating that they just received a EXPIRED LISTING postcard from me.  Apparently, the postcard went to the owners new address (which came directly from the Auditor's PUBLIC records.)

The lady stated that they were selling the home for their sister who is to know nothing about the sale.  However, she said her sister received my postcard and some from other agents as well and it's upsetting the sister/owner tremendously.  Again, I was told the "sister" was not to know anything about the sale of the home. I was asked to remove them from my mailing list.

I informed the caller that I sent the card because their listing had expired and I wanted to help.  I was informed that their home was on the market, had NEVER expired and that I could call their agent to show it, but again "take me off your list".

I checked the MLS records and the listing expireds 3/1/07 and has NOT been relisted.  Obviously the caller was completely unaware the listing had expired.

Do your sellers know what you're doing?  Do all parties involved know what's going on?

I see it happen all of the time.  So many agents these days have no common curtousy to take their lockbox and sign down.  I even have a better on for you.  I have a FSBO that im prospecting. House listin expired on  2/2, on 2/3 the FSBO sign went up, and the Agent sign went in the back yard because the agent never picked it up. After speaking with the home owner about how poorly his last agent treated him, he wanted to give FSBO a go.  You can imagine my suprise when on 2/12 the listing showed back up on the market from the same agent!! I was shocked, so I drove by and no agent sign, still just a FSBO, so I gave it a couple of days, same thing. Knocked on the door, and informed them that they were on the market again with that agent.....The agent then claimed he had no idea and took the home off.........sure enough about a week later, same agent put the posting up but with no picture............talk about lack of ethics.
