Friday the Commerce department reported that builders started construction on 1.61 million homes at an annual adjusted rate, up 16.9% from November.
Housing construction has been rising since July helped by falling interest rates and record employment. For the year builders started work on 1.37 million homes, the best since 2007.
Nashville home sales were up 21% year over year for the month of December and up 7% for the entire year of 2019 according to the Greater Nashville association of realtors.
