This is a very brief overview of an interesting article I read recently, it covers why you should carry on your SEO work during this unsettling time.
I have tried to give it a real estate/distressed sellers perspective:
1 - SEO work can bring in money.
This isn't quite true of our sector but this is a time to build relationships ready for when normality returns.
2 - Search is measurable
This is true. Everyone is looking for everything using the internet! There is nowhere else to go & people have far more time on their hands.
3 - When there is scarcity, people search
People who are thinking about selling their houses will start searching now - they will also realize that there may be too many houses V's buyers when this is over & they need to get in early.
4 - People still need products & services
This is still true, as mentioned above, the search for who will buy their house will start now. You, as a business, can still be contacted safely by phone or email. You could even have a virtual walk-around their house using WhatApp video or something similar.
5 - Eventually, things will get back to normal
This is very true. The world seems to have taken this very seriously & if 'we' can flatten the curve of the growth quickly then within a few months things should start to return back to some sort of order.
The reality is, some business owners will panic & stop what they feel are all non-essential outgoings.
Some will feel that SEO is one of these, we would strongly disagree - this is the time to try & increase your online presence! & if you are behind some of your competitors in terms of ranking, this is the perfect time to catch them up - SEO is an ongoing service & this is now the case, more than ever.
