Just last week I wanted get out of the office for a while but I knew that I had a consultation meeting with a neweragent, so I decided that we would do our class and conduct an open house at the same time. With no preparation but 1/2 hour of finding, gathering and placing signs we set off to do our open house/class in a vacant office foreclosure. Within minutes of settling in the home our first prospect came to the door. I let the agent do all the talking. She did a great job and was able to set an appointment to meet with that person later that day.
After approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes we closed the open house and that agent walked away with 7 names, 3 appointments for the next couple of days and 1 person even came in with his lender letter of approval and was ready to go right then.
That was last week. By the end of this week, that agent has met with all the people of the open house and from other open houses has developed an additional 10 names while opening 3 escrows. ALL IN 2 WEEKS!!!
For those of you who are grumbling about the market and wallowing in self pity, I say DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! The weather is perfect, the market is hot and there are people who want to buy homes, go find them with an OPEN HOUSE!!
