On April 25, 2023, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sales gained 9.6% to an annual rate of 683,000 homes in March of 2023 from 623,000 homes in February of 2023, declined 3.4% from in March of 2022 an annual rate of 707,000 homes.
The median new home sold value was $449,800, while the average sales price was $562,400 in March of 2023. There were estimated 432,000 new houses for sale, and 7.6 months supplies of available inventory at the end of March of 2023.
