The games room is actually the garage.

A lot of vacation homes in the area convert the garage into a games room.

Sometimes they can be elborate like this one, sometimes they enclose the garage and put carpet down and others just throw in a few games like a billiard table, foosball, table tennis etc.

Where we are in Florida we would have a tough time having a basement because we ae so close to sea level. Altho, I have seen 1.
