Who's FAT Now?

By
Real Estate Agent with REMAX

How Fat are We Now?It's an fact that more and more of my clients are wanting information about our area when they relocate here.  They want Maps of Education, Housing Costs, Median Income, (you know) the usual demographics.  So it's my job as their professional to serve their needs.  I always get an interesting request here and there.

I have many clients coming here from Florida and California.  Once they move into Greenville, they love it!  It actually grows on them!

This is an execellent segway into my next subject based on a demographic map (that I found from CDC) of each state in the US and the percent obesety that each state is.  I know its a little old, 2002, but I thought it was so intersting that I would share it for discussion.

Humm... Florida is not so fat but look out in Alabama and Mississippi!!!   Any ideas and thought about this?  I thought it was interesting and perhaps could generate some interesting discussion.  I leave it open to the floor for some heavy weighted discussion.

It's a weather thing.

Wait a minute, I moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona in 1992, then to San Diego in 2003 and I keep putting on weight.

Maybe I need to be jogging instead of blogging

Colorado is the #1 skinny state.  Today's paper said so.

To bad I'm not holding up my end of the average....Brian's right it's jogging not blogging for me.

Columbus Ohio always makes it onto lists of fat cities so the rest of the state of Ohio must be more slender to keep us in the 20-24% range as a state.

I knew about western states having statistically lower obesity rates than midwestern and eastern states. Colorado is the lowest... I think some stats just came out and Colorado is up but still the best.

Just got back from my jog through my "farm".  Whew!  No new unathorized for sale signs.  The advantage to the "jog through my farm" is the ocassional "pop by".  Those are always good for the soul and good for business.  Between Kristal, Ken and me, we'll have all of you wanting to move to our Skinny State.  I do have to admit though, there are a few folks at the local Wal Mart, even here in CO, that have not gotten the skinny message.

Oh, and Last year, I was in Hawaii (Waikki Beach) and I saw some BIG people Everywhere!  In this map it show Hawaii as not so bad.  It may be that the "scales are tipped" to one side.
