Why Buy Now?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Why buy a house now?  Reports from the media point the finger at housing and are contributing to paralyzing the nation into recession.  However, financial advisors and buyers alike are beginning to question the indexes where the media gets its data, and whether the news is really accurate.

Unfortunately, news consumers have not been getting the full story.  Indexes can be misleading because of the locations, prices, types of housing, and rates of increase they track; the Index covers only 20 markets, heavily weighted to the most volatile metros in the nation!

Currently, mortgage interest rates are three points below historical norms and housing inventories are five months greater than balanced markets, and unemployment that is a half percent lower than the recession of 2003.  Even financial guru Suze Orman agrees that we are currently in the midst of excellent home-buying conditions.  So ignore the news, buy within your means, and enjoy your new home.

Media not reporting the full story?  Surely not!! LOL...  If you need data, the OFHEO has reports that are useful.  Don't pay attention to the title of any of the reports, just look at the data and make your own conclusions.  I reference the website many times at the AR group http://activerain.com/groups/PositiveRealEstateNews

Excellent Post!! I heard a great statement the other day.  "When the bottom comes you'll probably be seeing it in the rear view mirror" I think we're there already.  Now if we could just get everyone else to believe.
