Carnival Splendor, Carnival's newest ship, is here! The cruise ship being just a little bigger then the five Conquest class ships at 113,000 tons and holds more then 3,000 quests. If you are familiar with Carnival Cruise Lines then finding your way around the ship won't be a difficult problem. When aboard the cruise ship you will find the very popular room El Morocco with its beautiful lanterns, zebra patterned leather and palm tress giving off the feel of the famous 1930's NY night club, the Cool Jazz bar with Miles-Davis wall artwork, photos, and sheet music.
The ship itself has an overall theme of pink throughout the atrium and main staircases and lobby. The main dining rooms, Black Pearl and Gold Pearl, have chandeliers encased with pearls.
The swimming pool area is made available for children's play area and adult spa. Also on the two decks high pool area is a retractable roof, Carnivals Seaside Theater with a large 270 sq/ft outdoor screen with two hot tubs sitting on either side of the pool deck. The kid's area is on two levels with a water spray park and a water slide.
A first for Carnival are the 68 staterooms that have private access to the spa areas with a glass walled elevator. The casual deck dinning area has a custom-made stir fry area, also a deli with freshly made sandwiches from a variety of combos.
The Carnival Splendor sounds like a great get away for the family or maybe just you and your wife or husband. I hope some of you get the chance to experience this brand new cruise ship, I know I sure would love to.
