Milwaukee County Market Report for September 2008

Reporting on sales and activity for Milwaukee County Wisconsin for the month ending September 30, 2008. 

September sales in Milwaukee County show as 476 closings.  In 2007 data shows 423 sales for the same time period.  This is showing the market should be stabilizing soon.

There were 176 new listings in Milwaukee County, with a total of 4487 active properties on the market.  That is nearly an 11 months supply on the market.  This indicates that we are still in a buyers market.   When inventory is at 5 months or less, it is considered a "sellers" market.

Sales are up this month from 2007 - that is a good sign.  

NATIONWIDE:

Building permits across the country are down to just under a million, historically this is an INDICATOR that we have reached the BOTTOM of the market.

If sales for this past month are an indicator, sales are increasing.  That is good news for the economy and the seller's in the area.
