Some of these phrases have been heard in the past, however, it just seems as though they have been talked about a lot more during 2008.
As this year comes to an end, allow me to some up the ones I've heard most:
From Buyers:
- "Maybe it's Not Meant to Be"
- "I don't want a deal, I want a steal"
- "I only want to buy a foreclosure"
From Sellers:
- "I'm not going to give it away"
- "Rather than reduce, tell buyers to make an offer"
- "We're going to take the house off the market and put it back on in the spring"
- "I'm not going to take less for my home and leave money on the table"
- "My house is only worth what?"
- "Maybe I'll just rent my house instead"
From Agents:
- "Is this a short sale?"
- "I had to get a regular full time job"
But I think the most popular one I heard was from both Buyers & Sellers
- "We're going to wait"
