Looking for comments on my new web site

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Agate Realty

It's been a long time since I have visited AR....WoW! so many changes and so little time.

Between what I have forgotten and all of the site changes made.... I'm lost!

In fact, How do I get this &^$^%#$! Font size larger now? Any body's quick answer would be helpful.

Getting down to business, I would like to get Real estate agent and broker opinions of my new web site at: www.CoastalOregonLiving.com

The site is hosted via agent advantage and Homes.com I feel the artwork is good but I am having trouble getting the web placement. They promised me they would optimize the site but I don't believe they have done much at all with keywords, search engine submissions etc.

I would like to use the site but I don't want to kick a dead horse either!

any advise would be appreciated....

Also, has anybody had success using ad space at www.Dupontregistry.com ?

Hmmm, I opened your website and the only thing that was up was a picture. If you move the mouse around, around the picture these links will all the sudden pop up out of no where, I didnt even know they were there? Im going to be very honest with you, please dont get upset, but the website is not very efficient at all.... I reccomenend that you go somewhere else to set up a website for you... Good luck Karl!

The font is driving me nuts too. I write it in html and it puts it in this tiny format here and I dont get it.

Thanks for your comment, You may have experienced a temporary slowdown. Could you please try to load it again, it has a large slide show that may have took a bit longer than usual.

Let me know if it still has a load problem, it's been fine on my end.

Karl...you need to do the blog...insert images, hyper links, save it, and then go back in and hit html.  Put brackets around <h2> This Is My Super Duper Blog</h2>

Check out the code at http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/quicklist.html or a slew of other sites on line.  It is not hard once you do a few and you can start hiding those links to video to avoid the nasty code in the background on youtube, etc. Good luck! I like the site..simple, clean..nice eye candy with vista opening shot!

Welcome back. I joined AR about 5 days ago, so still a newbie. I just visited your website and it seems to work fine. As far as SEO, you may have to take it upon yourself to promote your website via better key words, blogging, etc. I'm using www.Z57.com for website design and real estate platforms. Perhaps you can comment on it? www.idealtxhomes.com. I do have large slide show on homepage, but it loads fairly quickly at least on the computers at home (desktop & laptop.) Happy surfing and blogging!

I found your website to be working fine.  I especially enjoyed the big pictures on the front page.

I was going to say the stuff at the bottom is hard to read and at times you sort of go back and forth in what you are writing about. I wonder if you could make seperate pages or subpages for some of the info on the bottom. It might make more sense to your visitors and search engines to coordinate it more.

It looks VERY clean and easy to read in the top part for sure.

Hi Karl,

Glad you asked the font question because I needed to know that too!

I think your website looks *great*.  As I've been preparing to finally do a new website I've spent a couple of months looking at agents' websites all over the country.  Yours is definitely very appealing visually - unlike the majority I've seen.  I can't comment on the SEO - I am a beginner but am getting a feel for it by reading books and posts on this site - but the comments above make sense.  I also think it takes time. Seems like you're on the right track.

Hi Karl,

Nice website, the index page has too much info at the bottom. Also I am not sure if you want to give your home number on your website.

Looks good, but not SEO friendly at all. That's typical of the larger template shops, though.

Think more about your goals.

If it's to impress your potential sellers, or others considering using you, that you found off the web, then the large images & site will do the trick.

If it's to attract new clients via the search engines, it's a big fail, and cut your losses. You'd do much better with a free blog over at wordpress, and linking your vanity domain to it. Then load it up with lots of local keywords in your posts, and watch the traffic come in.

Karl, Cool Site.  Very rich in colors and graphics.  Go ahead and submit to dmoz.org if you haven't yet.  I submitted about 30 days ago and as expected.....still not in their directory.

Also, tons of info on AR about optimizing for search engines.  I'm doing it myself and it is a major work in progress!  Best of luck!

karl,

I just checked it out and I like it. I am in the process of building a website and I have looked at agent advantage. I am not sure who I am going with but i really like yours.

I like your visuals and style. The pictures are great. It worked well for me and I like it a lot. I don't know about SEO enough to see if yours works. One thing that is weird though is the text floating on the background and boucing around.

One thing I have learned is that moving up in google is a slow process and can take months to see results. Change is needed on a regular basis which is why blogs play such an important role. Also link and link and constantly update.

If you cannot do this yourself, you will not move up. Do you have access to do this?

Good luck!
