Over the last six months, the median sales price in Monroe NY is just a bit under $300K ($296,800). In all of Orange County NY, it's closer to $230K.
Off the top of my head, I believe the mediam home price for the metro DC area is just under $500,000.
It is true, the average price in Los Angeles area is near 400k, but you can not buy anything in Los Angeles city for this money. Los Angeles county has many cities. And for Beverly Hills and Venice prices can be 10x higher than for Downtown or Hollywood.
According to Zillow $127,000

According to what buyers will accept $270,000
And of course beginner buyers start with a Zillow expectation. This adds no less that a month to the buy side education process, as the buyer is reluctant to believe ZILLOW has pulled a fast one on them and agents remain silent.
In the Denver metro area, we see $329,000, and this includes both attached and detached homes.
Praful Thakkar around $225k in Richmond, but it is very wide with some homes in the $50k all the way up to some communities in the $500k range and of course some individual homes in $1M+
The median for our county is around $650,000. Most of the towns where I do work have median prices from around $800,000 - 1.1 million.

Median in Lansing KS is about $160k.
That's a broad question. Median prices for November 2014 for the areas I service ranged from about $442,000 to $2,875,000. In Carlsbad where I live the MDN was $764,500
The median price is $225,000 for Bonner County Idaho although like everyone else we have something for everyone and homes range between 70k-3 million

For Martin County FL it was $270,000 for November of 2014.
The median home price was $405,000 in November but does vary by jurisdiction in our large market.
