Im in Orange County California. My clients live in cali but rented a property out in New Jersey with a lease option to buy. My question is who handles the closings in New Jersey. In California we have the escrow process, i want to know if its the same in New Jersey or if they need an attorney. Is that clearer? No agent needed. Just someone to do paperwork but not sure if its escrow or attorney in NJ

Is your client doing a FSBO? Not sure about NJ law but in most states some agents will handle writing the contracts for a flat fee.

I'm also in SoCal, but if your client does not use any agents by going FSBO why do you ask agents? Even if you find some information online why do you want any liability suggesting your client how it is done in another state?

Great question for your local attorney or title company.

Refer out your client to a New Jersey real estate agent or to a real estate attorney if they don't want agent representation.
I see you have many years in real estate, very surprised by your question.
