One thing I love about living in Taos in Northern New Mexico is the old adobe buildings, homes and chapels in the area.  Many of them have been restored and kept in good condition without destroying the integrity of the original structure.  Sadly, some have deteriorated beyond help and have begun their descent back into the earth from which they were formed. It takes a special person or couple to live in, restore and/or care for one of these old historical gems. You must be able to live with the maintenance required to keep the moisture out so the adobe doesn't melt.  Many of them were built without a foundation and some of them have "rubble" foundations.  For the sake of simplicity I am going to write about an old 1880 Adobe home and guest house in the Talpa Church Plaza because I have... 07/26/2007
