Main Line Real Estate and Water-Soaked Basements First of all I would like to express my condolences to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this storm. However my favorite pet peeve is the water-soaked basement because they are not covered by insurance. They will not cover ground water, so basically the expense is on you. Besides that let me give some advice to help you on the way to recovery. Try to get a company like Servpro who can lift the carpets and pads and bring in the fans to get this dried out ASAP. Any drywall that has been affected must be removed to dry out the framing behind the wall. Remember dry wall is the perfect feeding ground for mold and if not removed it will smell musty and start to grow mold which could create health problems.
