homestead mortgage: Legislation changes in MN for mortgages effective August 1st, 2007
- 07/19/07 05:59 AM
Effective August 1, 2007, three anti-predatory legislative bills (H.F. 1004, S.F. 988, and S.F. 2096) enact changes designed to curb home foreclosures and mortgage lending fraud. Many Minnesota lenders are taking a conservative approach by choosing, at least for now, to purchase only full documentation loans. Others are stating that "no income, verified assets" will be acceptable. However, all lenders are wanting to see that we have established a borrower's "reasonable ability to repay the loan." As we move closer to the August 1 effective date, more investors are issuing statements describing their position on the effect of the legislation. While most (2 comments)
homestead mortgage: Get it out of Your Head!
- 07/17/07 08:02 AM
When was the last time you cleared your mind? Wouldn't it be nice to process one thought at a time and get rid of all of the unnecessary pressure and stress these multiple thoughts put on us? A little less than a year ago, many employees from our company got together to have a business planning and "brainstorming" session. The following is something that I learned from our conversations. Apparently, having too much on your mind takes up 'psychic RAM' space which bogs you down and gives you that stress we were talking about earlier. The cure: Write it down! Everything! homestead mortgage: It's never too late to write a Business Plan
- 07/16/07 09:59 AM
For those of you who are alot like me, right now you are realizing that you should probably pull out that business plan you wrote back in January. I'm sure that if I did, I'd find a few things that I have forgotten to do so far and I've made it half way through the year. But, like I said, it's never too late to start on it now. If you haven't written one yet this year, get on it!! If you have absolutely no idea where to begin, that's where I come in today. Step 1: Know your numbers! Know (4 comments)
homestead mortgage: Isanti County is turning 150 years old......what an accomplishment!
- 07/16/07 04:10 AM
Let's Remember Isanti County on it's 150th Birthday! Look at the way things have changed. 150 years ago, the roads weren't paved, the automobiles weren't affordable, indoor plumbing was hard to come by, and nobody even knew the word "technology". It is a big deal to see how far we've come and we need to take a look at the people and events that helped shape the way of living that we now enjoy. We should celebrate the progress that has been made! Isanti County's 150 years can now be commemorated in a few ways. Have you seen the new tee shirts that (1 comments)
homestead mortgage: Single family moratorium for Cambridge, MN?
- 07/06/07 09:06 AM
What good will this do? Some local realtors in Cambridge, Minnesota are asking the city for a temporary halt on building new single family homes. One realtor feels that a moratorium on large developments would decrease housing inventories, thus result in higher home values and benefit all home owners. Has the city done a demographic study to determine housing need in Cambridge? Has consideration been given to determine the effect of too much housing inventory (which results in lower home values)? Has consideration been given to how the real estate market will be or has been affected by new developments? One local realtor (3 comments)
My blog is all about mortgages and real estate with a spattering of community specific information about Cambridge, Minnesota, Isanti County, or surrounding areas. I will also have a few blogs about being a Mom in Real Estate and other personal items, but will only post to those specific groups. I hope you enjoy reading the spillage of my brain.
