positive attitude: What does complaining get us? Isn’t it better to simply work harder and smarter? - 01/06/10 03:02 AM
Think about the energy it takes to fret, complain and worry about problems.
Have you ever encountered someone that complained about everything under the sun?  Did you purposely seek them out to have another conversation or interaction with them?  Probably not - you probably thought "what a downer" and "I hope I don't have to talk to them again."
I've often noticed that I'm drawn to people who don't complain but instead are proactive and look for ways to fix a problem or create a solution.  I also think they are highly successful and productive because they are always looking for … (17 comments)

positive attitude: Making a Difference - Extending your Help to Someone with a Simple Gesture - 10/29/09 12:07 AM
This community is full of people who are always looking to make a difference to the people who hire us to provide real estate services, in our communities or to those special people in our lives.
This idea was shared with my  11 year old daughter (Sarah) from a teacher in her school.  My daughter has been actively looking for ways to get involved with more community service and this is one way she felt she could make a difference in someone's life.
If you're looking for another way to extend your help, especially this winter ~  another way you can make a difference to … (10 comments)

positive attitude: We all have it, we keep it for a long time and we don’t even need it... - 07/24/09 12:35 AM

What could I possibly be talking about?
There are many words you could use to describe it - clutter, junk, odds and ends, disorder, chaos, confusion, and mess.
Perhaps you experience the same - there is just never enough time to sort through the many rooms in our homes to remove the clutter that we all accumulate.
Last weekend we tackled the garage - the place (besides the basement) that we seem to dump the items that we don't know what to do with them -and usually they stay there until we finally decide we have not used them or even touched them since … (13 comments)

positive attitude: Do you embrace or run from unpredictability? - 06/15/09 03:27 AM

Holding some dice in your hand, thinking about the numbers you want to get, throw them out and see what numbers come up.  Did the numbers you were thinking of come up?
Life is unpredictable and just like we can't always predict the exact numbers that will come up when we throw the dice; we can't predict what will happen each day and who we will meet.
We are always setting goals and making plans for ourselves whether in our work lives or personally.  I'm actually someone that loves lists - they help keep me focused and ensure that I … (17 comments)

positive attitude: I've often been told I'm full of it...That's right I've got the "Spring Fresh" Attitude - 04/15/09 03:58 PM

When I think about Spring the main thought and image that comes to me is Cleaning.  I'm not just talking about spring cleaning my house - removing the clutter, giving away the things I no longer need, and removing all the reminders of winter but removing the clutter from my mind - old ideas, negative or defeating thoughts, old hurts that have simply been held onto with no real purpose except to take up space - cluttering my life.
Spring is the ideal time to do some routine cleaning for both our homes and our minds.  Not only is it … (26 comments)

positive attitude: Avoid these simple mistakes that will limit your focus and success (Follow-up to Tune up post) - 01/19/09 08:04 AM

FOCUS = SUCCESS
In my last post I talked about giving your business a tuneup and some of the areas for you to focus on to accomplish and meet success -Learning, Social Media, Networking, Connecting with Clients, and Having a Marketing Plan.
At the end of that post I talked about how to make these tasks work by Programming your Brain (many of you picked up on and suggested in your comments that they be step 6) with a focus on Positive Attitude and being a catalyst for change.
In this post, I am carrying through on that theme and positive message … (19 comments)

positive attitude: Action is your pathway to success – are you taking action? - 01/12/09 06:15 AM

The beginning of each year we look at what we've been doing - what's working and not working and focusing on what we're going to continue doing and what we're going to do differently to make this year better.
Do you only wait for a new year to make things happen? Is now the time to take action?
As an entrepreneur, like many of you, this is not the case for me.  Why?  Because I change things anytime I'm presented with a new opportunity, challenge, setback or idea that I think I can make work.  I don't wait for the … (13 comments)

positive attitude: "You don't have to be sure...to be positive" - 10/17/08 03:54 AM

What are you looking to achieve?  What is it that you want?  Are you seizing every opportunity?
Ask yourself these things:
What's standing in your way of achieving success?  Is it the current market conditions?  Not having enough time to focus on every aspect of your life and business?
Is it you?  Your own thoughts?   What are your roadblocks?
In a time when many of us have reasons to complain about the market and the challenges we face on a day to day basis, many of us are finding ways to shift our energy, focusing on reinventing and re-energizing ourselves, our … (14 comments)

positive attitude: It's National Stay at Home Week - what did you do? - 09/24/08 05:38 PM
National Stay at Home Week
One night a week I am dedicated, driven and excited about a "Girls Night" with my 10 year old daughter.  It's our special time to spend with one another in which we shut out the rest of the world.
It's quality time we spend with one another - talking, laughing and connecting.
Tonight was "Spa Night."  We got out my foot bath and we painted each others toes, all the while we're talking about our day and all the things that are important to us.
I cherish these moments because most of the week is so busy with work, school and … (8 comments)

positive attitude: Like Muhammed Ali "I am the greatest"...can you say that? - 09/18/08 03:24 AM

Each person's greatness is beyond what they can imagine and we often are blind to our value.
Think of Muhammed Ali's saying "I am the greatest."
There are many days we are simply at war with ourselves.  We pick ourselves (and others) apart and we fail to see the positives in ourselves (and others.)  These self defeating activities and thoughts affect our spirit and will ultimately affect those we are associated with - family, friends, colleagues and clients and they will certainly affect your business.

If you've ever read Stephen Coveyyou will know he talks about "sharpening your saw."  This means renewing … (9 comments)
