Birmingham has so many wonderful restaurants and right now is the perfect time to try something new or revisit an old favorite!
Back for it's second year, and after much anticipation, Birmingham Restaurant Week kicked off Friday, August 19th and will continue through Sunday, August 28th.
At least 30 of the area's most popular dining spots are participating in the event, offering specially priced meals at $10, $20 and $30 and even some special meals just for the kiddos!
Saturday evening Mike and I had dinner at The Silver Coin Indian Grill and as always it was very good! This was the first time I tried the Lamb Vindaloo and he chose the Karahai Ghosh (another lamb dish). We also got an order of Spinach Kulcha (leavened wheat bread stuffed with spinach and spices), which is so tasty and perfect for sopping up the all the yummy sauce!

Trying to decide on a special way to celebrate Valentine's Day with your sweetie? A romantic meal at a fine restaurant is hard to beat, and Birmingham offers some great choices for a special evening that you both will enjoy. Where is the best place to enjoy fresh seafood in Birmingham? According to readers of The Birmingham News that would be Ocean in Five Points South! Over 6,400 people voted and the majority chose Ocean as Birmingham's Best Seafood Restaurant (2010).
They aren't the only ones that think so. Others awards include Best Chef, Winner of the AAA Four Diamond Award for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, as well as the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

Where is the best place to get a great steak in Birmingham? The votes are in, with over 6,400 readers of The Birmingham News casting a vote, the majority chose Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar at The Summit as the restaurant that serves up Birmingham's Best Steak (2010).

Crestline Village is one of my favorite places to shop and eat in the Birmingham area. One of three shopping villages in Mountain Brook, Crestline is only minutes from downtown Birmingham. It's about a 30 minute drive from my house, but well worth the trip!
I'll share some of the shopping spots in another post.....today I have food on my mind so here are just a few that are sure to please!
