A Face Only A Mother Could Love?
I was at a listing appointment yesterday and on the way home I came across this cute black sheep. All the others were lighter colors and all huddled together but this little guy was all by himself. It made me sad. I just wanted to get out of my car and go give this guy a hug but I was afraid I would scare the animals and maybe someone would think I was crazy. I thought of this little guy all afternoon and wondered where his mother was and why his friends were not … (20 comments)

Inland Empire Landmarks, Sites and Nature Facebook Page.

As an ActiveRain Rainmaker, I am asking everyone a favor? I have a new Facebook page which has nothing to do with real estate. It is more of a farming page. It is entitled “Inland Empire Landmarks, Sites and Nature”. Since I take a lot of photographs, I wanted to have a site to display them on FB. Chris Alston, AR and FB trainer, discussed this on his webinar last week.

The link is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Inland-Empire-Landmarks-Sites-and-Nature/285941878101061

nature: Motivational Monday- The Birds and the Bees - 10/02/11 06:35 PM
The Birds and the Bees
I forgot to fill the bird feeder this morning. When I went outside, this bird was just sitting there looking at me like “Hello the feeder is Empty!” I was on the other side of the backyard with no tripod but still this bird has the cutest expression and just the stance is adorable.
Here is a close up of the little bird.

And here is the bees. I confess, I was at Lowe's in Redlands and they had all kinds of flowers with bees buzzing around so I took a few shots.

I Cannot Hold My Head Up Anymore!
The Alaska Moose (male) typically weighs 1400 lbs., antlers have a average width up to 4.9 ft, Height of 6-7 ft. at the shoulders and live about 25 years.

The male will drop its antlers after the mating season (Sept-Oct) and conserve energy for the winter. A new set of antlers will then regrow in the spring. Antlers take three to five months to fully develop, making them one of the fastest growing animal organs. They initially have a layer of skin, called "velvet," which is shed once the antlers become … (21 comments)

Five Little Hungry Piglets ..all in a row!
Last weekend I went to the LA County fair and had a terrific time looking at all the animals and taking pictures. Here are a few cute piggy pictures!

This little white pig got up and was squealing and trying to wake everyone up.

This little white one tried to get her mother up but finally went back to sleep.

♪♪♪♪ I Hear the Sound of Music in My Backyard!♪♪♪♪
Last week, I bought a bird feeder and food and proudly hung it in the plum tree in my backyard as I had been reading about it being our duty to feed the birds since the weather will be changing soon.  So I hung it up and nothing……..

Yesterday, I heard birds singing but when I went outside, nothing! But this morning, they were all over and singing so loudly. It is such a joyous sound to hear them chirping; such a wonderful sound of music … (26 comments)

People Watching By the Birds!

I took this picture while in front of the local bird farm,"Bracken's Bird Farm”in Redlands, CA yesterday. Do you ever wonder what birds think of us? These birds were way up high on electrical lines and were looking down watching the cars driving by. Did anyone ever see “The Birds” movie by Alfred Hitchcock? Of course, these look like nice birds!

Speechless Sunday- The Beauty and the Forgotten of Nature

This morning I went out for my Sunday morning hike but took my camera instead of my dogs. They have a way of making the birds and other critters scram so I went searching alone for some inspirational pictures. The problem was it was already past 7:00 a.m. and 85 degrees with high humidity so I did not have much luck but had a nice hike anyway. I am typically out there at 6:00 a.m. before the heat. But I did find some interesting pictures to … (14 comments)
